Ignition leads for LPG and CNG engines

Igniting an LPG or CNG mixture requires a higher voltage and a longer spark than petrol. SENTECH ignition leads have very low resistance thanks to high-grade steel wire wound at 50 turns per cm around a ferrite core, so the spark is strong and lasts longer. This makes ignition more reliable and increases engine efficiency.

Igniting a gas mixture in an engine is much harder than igniting a petrol mixture, and combustion also proceeds differently for the two fuels. A gas mixture needs a higher voltage and a longer spark duration at the spark plug. Because of their construction, ignition leads are designed to suppress electromagnetic interference. This is achieved either by fitting resistors or by electrical resistance distributed along the core of the lead.

To ensure the highest possible spark energy and a small voltage drop, ignition leads with the lowest possible electrical resistance should be used. A ferrite core surrounded by spirally wound turns of thin, high-grade steel wire (50 turns per cm) generates an electromagnetic field that stays within the winding. The electrical resistance is very low because both the wire and the ferromagnetic material conduct current well. Energy stored in the lead is partly released thanks to induction, which makes the spark at the plug strong and longer-lasting. Ignition becomes more reliable and engine efficiency increases.

SENTECH ignition leads are made from state-of-the-art materials not found in the popular leads available on the market, which is why we guarantee their longer service life and reliable ignition in LPG/CNG (autogas) engines.
