General information about SENTECH ignition leads
SENTECH ignition leads are made on modern machinery under the constant supervision of specialists, technicians and engineers, in line with EU safety requirements and quality standards. They come with a 2-year warranty. The materials used are recyclable, and silicone is used only where it is really needed.
Production
Our ignition leads are manufactured on modern machinery under the constant supervision of specialists, technicians and engineers. Production meets all EU safety requirements and quality standards.
Quality
The lead sets were put into production only after numerous rigorous quality and endurance tests in test and inspection laboratories. Their quality is continuously monitored by the company's quality assurance system.
Warranty
We provide a 2-year warranty.
Caring for the environment
The components we use to make our ignition leads are a product of modern materials engineering, which means they can be recycled. All materials meet the highest technical standards and are safe for the environment. Materials such as silicone are used only where they are really necessary – this is how we help protect the natural environment.

- Benefits of SENTECH leadsSENTECH ignition leads make starting easier in cold, damp and hot conditions and prevent carbon deposits on the spark plugs. They help reduce carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide in the exhaust, improve engine performance, lower fuel consumption and improve radio and phone reception.
- TipsPractical advice on using ignition leads: never touch them with the engine running, remove them only when the engine is cold and never pull on the lead itself. Fit the boots carefully so that they click into place, replace the complete set rather than single leads, and renew ignition leads every 50,000 km or every 3 years.
- LPG and CNGIgniting an LPG or CNG mixture requires a higher voltage and a longer spark than petrol. SENTECH ignition leads have very low resistance thanks to high-grade steel wire wound at 50 turns per cm around a ferrite core, so the spark is strong and lasts longer. This makes ignition more reliable and increases engine efficiency.
- Questions and answersIgnition leads carry high voltage from the coil to the distributor and spark plugs and suppress radio interference. They should be replaced every 50,000 km or every three years, preferably before winter. Signs of worn leads include hard starting, higher fuel consumption, sooty plugs and hesitation under acceleration.
- Facts and mythsSilicone insulation is not automatically the best: it is hard to recycle and mechanically weaker than modern thermoplastics. Classes A to F under ISO 3808 describe temperature resistance, not quality, and there is no class G. For LPG/CNG engines, a low voltage drop matters more than temperature resistance, which is why many carmakers advise against carbon-core leads above 7 kΩ/m.
- Replacing ignition leadsSome engines need special tools to replace ignition leads – boot pliers and spark plug boot pullers – to avoid damaging the boots. Leads should be replaced one at a time with the engine off and cold, after checking the set against the SENTECH catalogue drawing. Several sets for VW and Mercedes-Benz engines carry a higher risk of terminal damage during fitting and removal.
